Moms of toddlers know that keeping them occupied during times when we need them to be quiet can be tricky. Church, doctor’s appointments, school appointments, etc., all require some planning for quiet time. Snacks, electronics, books – we’ve tried them all, haven’t we? Hmm…. if only someone made Geeky Quiet Books for kids ….
Quiet books are a great way to keep a child engaged. Typically done with a religious theme, a focus on everyday tasks or dexterity, or even with pre-K education goals in mind, those of us on the geek-spectrum have been wanting …. and I’ve found some awesome DIY Geeky Quiet Books for Geeky Kids (and the parents who love them and are just as geeky and raising their kids right!)
GEEKY QUIET BOOKS FOR GEEKY KIDS
Click on the images below to get to a page full of geeky, felty goodness made with love by moms (and no comments on them having a little too much time on their hands. This is geekdom we’re talking about – how many hours did you spend playing video games this week? *wink*) They gave up Nap Time (insert angel chorus here) to make these! Nap Time (angel chorus again) is precious time!
I’m not going to include the inner page images from these books as that’s for the individual crafter to share, but I gotta tell you, it’s been awhile since I’ve been truly crafty, and these make me want to have wee folk in the house again so that I can make some of these!!
HARRY POTTER QUIET BOOK

LORD OF THE RINGS QUIET BOOK
STAR WARS QUIET BOOK
You can get the patterns for Julie’s quiet books through her Etsy shop, but click on each of the above images to see how she put them together. They are awesome!
Here are even more quiet books that you can get inspiration from to create your own for your kids! Get them started young!! Click on any image for more information.
Doctor Who Quiet Book
This book is no longer available on the original blog (BB Bantam Tumblr), nor are the plans available online, but I wanted to share it with you because it’s a great idea and you could create your own pages! Use this for inspiration to make your own Wibbily Wobbily book!
Harry Potter Quiet Book 2
Harry Potter Quiet Book 3
This is a different one than based off the patterns of Julie’s book.
Avengers Quiet Book
Another of Julie’s fabulous designs is available on Etsy, but she posts the pages on her blog to get a look.
DIY GEEK ABC FELT BOOK
A little different from a quiet book, this felt book can still be used to have fun and keep someone quiet for times at church or the doctor’s office. It was just too cool not to share!
DOCTOR WHO QUIET BOOK 2
I love this book because it looks like Riversong’s Journal. I expected the first page to read, “Hello, Sweetie!”
LED BUILD A ROBOT QUIET BOOK
Imagine how cool it is not only to build your own robot, but to create learn about electronic circuitry while you’re at it! While this is an intricate project for the intermediate/advanced crafter, it is amazing, and completely geeky!
Those of you really into electronics might even be able to figure out how to connect some sound, too! Not so quiet anymore, huh?
Star Wars Zoo Quiet Book
SOLAR SYSTEM QUIET BOOK
This is a single page book, but if you’re really clever, you can do these as single pages and add them to a compilation book.
HARRY POTTER MONSTER BOOK OF MONSTERS
While this isn’t a quiet book in this sample, you can make it, then fill the inside with pages that you love from quiet books you already want to create. Just another option for a cover for you. Think outside the box and make a journal book for your kids to draw in and keep them busy.
SUPERHERO QUIET BOOK
I love that this quiet book allows the child to don their favorite super hero disguise before tackling all the tasks in the book. Makes everyday PreK activities even more fun in a cape and a mask, doesn’t it?
GEOGRAPHY QUIET BOOK
Because the geography geek/homeschool mom in me couldn’t pass this one up ..
